Mirror, Mirror (pastel) - MdeMetz 2010- won an award in a minor international art competition on July 15th, same night as the opening of "I Am Woman" See it at Rising Gallery through July.

last week’s well-attended opening of “I Am Woman,” an exhibition of new artwork relating to the feminine perspective 0f 18 female artists at Rising Gallery, I invite you to stop by and view the exhibition which runs through July 31st. Curated by the dynamic-duo Frankie Garcia III and Jeremy McKane, the opening at brothers Bryan and Taber Wetz’s new–and recently expanded–gallery (little more than a year old) space was packed to overflow.

Incidentally, on the same evening as the opening I received notification that one of the five new pastels featured in the exhibit, Mirror, Mirror (shown above), won an award (unrelated to the exhibit).
